Facts of Siemens' history in Ukraine

1853	Start of the Siemens activities in Ukraine connected with the unleash of the Crimean War between Russia and Turkey: Siemens wins the contract for laying a telegraph line from Saint-Petersburg to Sevastopol via Kyiv and Odessa.
1855	Opening of technical bureaus in Kyiv and Odessa connected with signing contract for a technical maintenance of the telegraph lines of the jointstock company Siemens & Halske for the period of 12 years.
1870	Laying of the Indo-European line from London to Calcutta via the South of Ukraine (Odessa, Kerch). Length: 11 000 km.
1892	Installation of electric equipment at the first in the country and the second in Europe tram line in Kyiv.
1894-1902	A number of projects of electric equipment instal lation at the municipal transport and power stations in Lviv, Zhytomyr, Yekaterynoslav, Chernivtsi, Mykolayiv.
1897	Installation of electric alarm system at the stations of the South-West railways.
1898	Opening of affiliates of joint-stock company Siemens & Halske in Kharkiv, Yekaterynoslav and Odessa.
1900	Equipping a telephone exchange in Odessa.
1909	Order for construction of a long-distance telephone central line for 1 700 subscribers in Yekaterynoslav.
1911	Installation of a street illumination system in Odessa.
1912	Opening of the lighting department of Siemens & Halske in Kyiv.
1925	Installation of a fire alarm and lighting system for the stage of the Opera Theater in Odessa.
1927-1932	Participation in the construction and equipping of the Dniprovska HPP near city of Zaporizhzhya

The New History

1989	Beginning of cooperation of the Siemens AG Medical Group with the factory "Relay and Automatics", Kyiv.
1990	Establishment of the joint venture MKM Telekom.
1992	Opening of the official representative office of Siemens `AG in Ukraine Opening of the German Technical Department at the Donetsk State Technical University with the participation of Siemens.
1995	Establishment of the Siemens regional affiliate in Odessa.
1997	Establishment of the subsidiary Siemens Ukraine with 100% foreign capital. Opening of a Siemens Ukraine's affiliate – the Donetsk Engineering Technical Center.
2000	Opening of a new office of the company in Kyiv.
2003	Celebration of 150-year anniversary of the Siemens operations in Ukraine.
2005	Opening of a Siemens Ukraine's affiliate in Lviv.
