Partnership agreement between Siemens Ukraine and Siemens AG subsidiary in Netherlands

10/13/2008

In 2007 Siemens Ukraine and Siemens Netherlands laid down the basis for International team work in a partnership agreement signed by the top management of both the companies. The goal of the agreement is on one side to provide engineers from Siemens Ukraine the opportunity to participate in high end Dutch industrial and infrastructure projects and on the other hand to allow this partnership to help Siemens Ukraine develop extra business making use of Dutch competencies.

The first phase of the pilot project MOBZ "Modernization of Sluices and Bridges in the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands is near completion with the active participation of two engineers from Ukraine. Further an additional engineer from Siemens Ukraine was extensively trained by Siemens Netherlands to become a member of the product support department which supports running automation projects. The main goal of the project is to automatically control the different sluices from a central location in Zeeland. In the first stage four sluices, included bridges, will be controlled from a new control room at the artificial island Neeltje Jans in Zeeland.  The control system consists of Simatic S7 PLC's and the PVSS SCADA system installed in the newly built control room. The engineers from Siemens Ukraine worked mainly on the development of control system software and later actively participated in commissioning of this high end control system. This team work has been appreciated by both sides and will open doors for future new opportunities for both the companies.
